Поиск партнеров для международного конкурса по тематике "Сенсоры, основанные на нанотехнологии, для мониторинга окружающей среды".
Турецкий частный Институт (Sabanci University, http://www.sabanciuniv.edu/eng/anasayfa/anasayfa.php) ищет партнеров для создания консорциума на будущий конкурс 7РП по направлению "наноматериалы, нанонаука.." по тематике "Сенсоры, основанные на нанотехнологии, для мониторинга окружающей среды".
Институт ищет партнеров, проводящих исследования в области дизайна и производства оптико-электроники и способных к миниатюризации лабораторных установок в карманные устройства.

Abstract:
A Turkish private university is planning to submit a proposal that aims to develop a handheld sensor for the detection of environmental toxins for the call topic NMP.2013.1.2-1 Nanotechnology-based sensors for environmental monitoring. The Turkish University is looking for suitable partners with an adequate expertise on electronic-optical design/fabrication and miniaturizing the laboratory set ups for a handheld device.


Description:
A Turkish private university is preparing a project proposal for the call topic. NMP.2013.1.2-1 Nanotechnology-based sensors for environmental monitoring. The specific objective of this topic is to exploit progress in nanosciences to deploy nanotechnology in affordable, mass-produced sensors, and to integrate these into components and systems (including portable ones) for mass market applications in environmental monitoring. Sensing may include chemical, micro-biological and radiological parameters.

The proposal being prepared by the Turkish university to devise a handheld sensor for the detection of environmental toxins. The planned sensor will work based on optical/electrical detection and will be capable of multiplexing by using arrays of sensor chips/nanoparticles. The device will include microfludic channels and nano/micron-size features. The device should be able to handle organic solvents as well since some environmental toxins do not dissolve in water.

Confirmed partners for this project are Francesco Stellacci (EPFL, Switzerland); other possible partners include Wolfgang Parak (University of Marburg, Germany), Luis M. Liz-Marz?n (Vigo University, Portugal), Frank F. Bier (Fraunhofer Institute for Biomedical Engineering IBMT, Germany) etc.

The Turkish research group has expertise in nanoparticle synthesis and characterization and fabrication techniques (micro/nanofabrication and microfludic).  The partner sought should be capable of the electronic-optical design/fabrication and miniaturizing the laboratory set ups for a handheld device.
